Deborah O
Hi, I’m Deborah and I’m a grade 11 student at HTS. I enjoy many things, from music and binge watching movies, to business and philosophy. One of my biggest passions is social Justice and I knew joining Ted Ed would give me an opportunity to speak on it, and learn to be a better public speaker in general. Social Justice has become many people’s passions, especially with the sudden awareness on issues of racism and discrimination. Yet I've realized that many people are still unaware of their own contribution to the spread of racism. After realizing this, I decided I wanted to use this opportunity to shed light on one of the most unnoticed forms of racism. Microaggressions. Not many people truly understand the term, yet they are one of the most damaging forms of discrimination. If you’d like to learn more on the topic and see how you can help with issues of racism in society today, I hope you consider seeing my speech!
